Nothin' Like a Good Pizza TweetUp!

This past Tuesday, I was fortunate enough to grab a spot for one of @lapp’s (Craig Agranoff) infamous #pizzatweetups! Not only was this month’s pizza venue in my neck of the woods, I actually had the opportunity to finally meet some new tweeps I’ve been following for some time and of course spend time with some of my “old” favorites (you know who you are!)

Quick background for my readers who aren’t into the whole “Twitter” thing, a tweetup is just another way of saying a meet up. And what @lapp (creator of Worstpizza.com) has done with his #pizzatweetups is bring together a large community that otherwise wouldn’t have a real reason to get together were it not for their love of pizza and curiosity to put a face to their friend’s twitter handle @insertnamehere. I’ve recently been working together with @lapp to help him take his show on the road for the popular #ChevyPizzaCrawls for one of my clients and it’s by far, the most fun I’ve had while working.

Pizza Volante in the Design District was our host for the #pizzatweetup and boy do they put the umph into that word. From the moment we were greeted by the owner, to every single pizza pie, antipasto salad and garlic roll we ate, all the 50+ tweeps in attendance had huge smiles on their faces and the folks here treated us more like family. I not only got to eat delicious pizza, but I got to chill with my online friends and made some cool new contacts. Did I mention all of this is free??
