Midtownchica Bite's: Brother Jimmy's

By now most of you are aware that I used to call NYC home for a few years. During my wonderful time with JG in NYC, we would frequent Brother Jimmy’s, a popular NYC BBQ joint and sports bar, to watch some of our games and simply grab some delicious bbq (love the hush puppies!) and some drinks with friends. In fact, one of the things JG missed most about NYC was going to Brother Jimmy’s every Sunday to watch all the NFL games.

So obviously the moment we heard Brother Jimmy’s was going to be expanding and opening up their 1st store OUTSIDE of NYC and placing it in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood, we were ecstatic!

Just last week, I was invited by Brother Jimmy’s personally to come and sample their food and drinks. Gleefully, JG and I made our way there on a Wednesday night and the manager, Dustin, greeted us and put us in a nice, chill area of the restaurant. By this time, JG was ready to stuff his ‘mouf with some south’ with this Carolina-inspired BBQ that he so dearly loved and stuffing our mouths is exactly what we did.

For starters, we ordered the steamed shrimp (a lighter appetizer) and two glasses of draft Shock Top beer to spark the meal. They also have a full top-shelf bar and they make a killer punch bowl. See picture.

For our main course, we decided to order the fried chicken with mac n’ cheese and corn on the cob. The fried chicken takes 25 minutes to cook as they literally make it to order so make sure you give them time to bread it and fry it and cook it to perfection. The pulled pork sandwich and chicken pulled sandwich is to die for and I highly recommend the hush puppies (make sure to dip them in the maple butter). If you’re a health conscious nut, they have delicious salads and fish dishes and some alternatives to their BBQ dishes, succulent burgers and wings.

JG would prefer I NOT share this with my readers because he won’t be able to get a table once word gets out, but he has no choice. Hope you're able to enjoy it too!
Did someone say Fried Chicken!?

I need to go here. I remember you guys talking about this place coming to town. And in my humble opinion, Carolina-style BBQ is the best!
